Soneium will be simplifying blockchain experiences while empowering developers, creators, and communities. Soneium's L2 tech stack is based on the OP Stack technology from Optimism, as it plans to join the Superchain, a network of interconnected blockchains. This integration positions Soneium at the forefront of Ethereum scaling efforts, enhancing its technological capabilities and contributing to the broader mission of creating a more efficient, accessible, and sustainable blockchain infrastructure. By leveraging the OP Stack, Soneium aims to expand Ethereum's capacity to internet-level scale while supporting the growth and security of the web through contributions to the Optimism Collective.

Sony Group Corporation, a global technology leader, collaborates with Startale, a web3 innovator, to create Soneium as a versatile and scalable blockchain platform designed to drive mass adoption by simplifying blockchain experiences and empowering developers, creators, and communities. While Sony Group provides its vast expertise and global reach, Startale brings cutting-edge blockchain technology and innovation, together shaping Soneium into a platform that aims to revolutionize the way we interact with the internet. The first phase is to start with Soneium L2, a layer 2 solution on Ethereum.

Are there any limitations to the Block Explorer?​

Unfortunately, yes. Currently, some features may not function as expected, as outlined below:

Error when accessing “UML diagram”​

When accessing 'View UML diagram' under 'Verified contracts' in the block explorer, a '500 Oops! Something went wrong' error may appear. This error is a known issue (No. 1010) in the OSS Blockscout. Soneium plans to update once the issue is resolved on the OSS side.

Multiple wallet connection attempts​

When attempting to connect to a wallet multiple times via the 'Connect wallet' menu in the block explorer, an error message saying 'Connection declined. Connection can be declined if a previous request is still active' may appear. This message does not impact functionality; your wallet will still connect successfully. Simply close the error dialog and continue using the explorer as usual.

We are already working with the Blockscout team on this issue and plan to update it once the issue is resolved.

Revert reason not displayed​

When the execution of smart contract is reverted, the ‘Revert reason’ in the ‘Transaction Details’ on the explorer is not shown. This is due to the current implementation of Blockscout.
