1. Role and Responsibilities of Soneium Advocates

Soneium Advocates are instrumental in building, nurturing, and engaging our Discord community, driven by the vision of an open and borderless internet. Advocates should embody the principles and cultural values of Soneium, contributing actively to creating a space where innovation, collaboration, and creativity thrive.

Soneium's vision is to "Realize the Open Internet that Transcends Boundaries." This vision emphasizes a world where everyone, regardless of background or location, can be a creator, collaborating and innovating without limitations. Advocates should be aligned with this vision, understanding that they are part of a community that transcends social, economic, and regional barriers, empowering individuals to bring ideas to life and fill the world with emotion through collective efforts.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Community Monitoring and Moderation: Ensure that the community remains welcoming, safe, and active, promoting engagement while staying aligned with Soneium's values.
  • Security and Protection: Safeguard the community by identifying and addressing threats, such as bots and scammers, maintaining a secure environment for innovation and collaboration.
  • Member Engagement: Engage proactively with community members, addressing questions, welcoming new participants, and fostering a sense of belonging rooted in Soneium's ethos.
  • Community Programs: Support programs that align with the values of emotion, creativity, and mainstream adoption, inspiring members to participate and contribute actively.

Collaboration and Reporting:

  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Act as a bridge between the community and the broader teams (e.g., product, engineering), sharing user feedback that aligns with Soneium's vision for a more vibrant and interconnected world.
  • Community Insights: Analyze and report on community engagement and growth, recommending strategies that further Soneium's mission and cultural values.
  • Web3 Best Practices: Offer strategic advice and share insights into Web3 engagement, ensuring that the community remains forward-thinking and inclusive.

2. Standards of Conduct

Soneium Advocates are not only protectors but also advocates of the community, embodying Soneium's vision, values, and culture. Advocates must showcase professionalism consistent with Sony's global standards, ensuring that every action and interaction contributes to a more connected, creative, and emotional internet.

2.1. Respect and Kindness

  • Value-Driven Respect: Treat every member with respect and kindness, promoting Soneium's culture of excitement and engagement. Remember that each member contributes to the community's rich tapestry of ideas and creativity.
  • Empathy and Support: Recognize that innovation comes with challenges. Offer support and encouragement, understanding that emotional connection is at the heart of Soneium's values.

2.2. Professionalism

  • Soneium Standards: Uphold the professional standards of Soneium, reflecting a commitment to creativity and technological excellence. Advocates must act with integrity, contributing to the broader Soneium's vision of "filling the world with emotion through the power of creativity and technology."
  • Purposeful Communication: Communicate clearly, professionally, and in a manner that fosters openness and collaboration, ensuring alignment with Soneium's vision of transcending boundaries.
  • Simplicity and Accessibility: Keep communication accessible and welcoming, reinforcing the inclusive nature of the community.

2.3. Exemplary Leadership

  • Embodiment of Soneium's Values: Be a role model by reflecting the principles of emotion, creativity, and mainstream adoption. Inspire members through positive interactions and a shared sense of purpose.
  • Cultural Alignment: Actively promote Soneium's vision, values, and culture, making sure that every action contributes to a more vibrant, inclusive, and innovative community.

3. Community Interaction and Engagement

Soneium Advocates must inspire and engage the community in ways that reflect the project's unique culture and vision. The goal is to foster a space where every member feels empowered to contribute creatively and collaboratively.

3.1. Welcoming and Inclusive

  • Heartfelt Greetings: Welcome every member warmly, reinforcing Soneium's culture of emotion and inclusivity. Example: "Hello [user's name], welcome to the community! We're excited to have you here—how can I assist you today?"
  • Encourage Participation: Promote a sense of belonging and excitement, encouraging members to share their ideas and engage meaningfully.

3.2. Active Dialogue and Community Events

  • Foster Innovation: Drive conversations that highlight Soneium's vision and encourage members to think creatively and collaboratively.
  • Host Engaging Events: Organize activities that showcase Web3's potential and Soneium's mission to go mainstream, making the community experience both exciting and valuable.

4. Security Measures and Threat Prevention

  • Proactive Protection: Ensure that community safety aligns with the vision of an open internet free from threats. Quickly address and report malicious activity, preserving the integrity of Soneium's ecosystem.
  • Transparency and Reporting: Maintain transparent records of security incidents, collaborating with the team to implement improvements.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Community Insights: Work closely with the official team to share valuable feedback, ensuring that community-driven innovation aligns with Soneium's strategic goals.
  • Idea Exchange: Encourage the exchange of creative ideas that reflect the project's commitment to making Web3 accessible and mainstream.
  • Innovative Solutions: Stay open to new ideas and approaches that drive community growth and engagement.

6. Specific Conduct Rules

  • Fairness and Equality: Treat all community members equally, honoring the project's vision of inclusivity.
  • Confidentiality: Safeguard confidential information and respect the privacy of internal and community discussions.
  • Responsible Leadership: Use your authority responsibly, upholding the community's values and trust.
  • Lead by Example (Role Model):
    • Scouts and Advocates are encouraged to respectfully approach and guide others if their behavior, communication, or attitude does not align with our Code of Conduct. Providing constructive feedback and maintaining a positive tone helps foster a welcoming and supportive environment.
    • Examples of Preferred Communication:
      • When responding to questions or comments, avoid unhelpful or dismissive replies such as:
        • "Yo sup, we don't kno that answer."
        • "Not sure, look it up in the docs."
        • "Open a ticket."
        • "....."
        • "Havent heard back yett?"
      • Instead, aim for respectful, clear, and helpful responses, such as:
        • "Thank you for your question! Here's a helpful resource that might address your issue: [link]. Let me know if this helps."
        • "Could you clarify your question or provide more context about the issue you're experiencing?"
        • "Let me reach out to another team member who might be able to assist you better."
        • "I understand your frustration, and I'll need a little time to get this sorted out for you. I'll keep you updated."
        • "Welcome to the community! We're glad to have you here. Could you clarify your comment or question so we can assist you better?"

7. Consequences, Accountability, and Role Management

The Advocate role is offered by the Soneium team and can be revoked under the following conditions:

  • Violation of server rules.
  • Actions that negatively impact the Soneium brand or community.
  • Prolonged inactivity without prior notice.

Any breach of these standards will result in appropriate action, which may range from warnings to the removal of the Advocate role, depending on the severity of the infraction.

Lastly, kindly note that your role as a Advocate is not intended nor shall be construed to create a relationship of principal and agent, partnership, joint venture, or an employer-employee relationship with Sony Block Solutions Labs Pte. Ltd.
