This page provides transparency regarding any actions we take to address unauthorized use of intellectual property (IP) and potentially harmful contract addresses on our network.

Why We Have This Restriction System​

  1. Protecting Intellectual Property Rights: Soneium actively prevents unauthorized use of major IPs and takes action to uphold legal and ethical standards, ensuring protection for creators worldwide.
  2. Mitigating Risks to Users: We leverage advanced tools such as Blockaid to identify malicious contract addresses that could endanger users or the network’s integrity.
  3. Building a Healthy Ecosystem: By addressing these issues constructively, we aim to promote dialogue and collaboration, creating a fair and thriving environment for token issuance.

How It Works​

  1. Warning Period:
  • When a potential violation is identified, the contract address is added to the "Suspected of IP infringement" List on this page.
  • During this phase, no technical restrictions are imposed. This is a transparent grace period for the project team to resolve the issue.
  • A grace period (flexible based on circumstances) is typically provided, giving users and project teams the opportunity to respond and address the concerns.
  1. Escalation to Restriction:
  • If the issue remains unresolved after the warning period, the contract address is moved to the "Restricted due to IP infringement" List.
  • Contract addresses on this list will have their activities restricted on Soneium, including RPC-level blocks, limited visibility on Block Explorer, and excluded from wallets.
  1. Dynamic Updates:
  • If improvements are made to a restricted contract, its status can be reassessed. Labels may be updated or removed following a thorough review.
